Family Album II
In honor of this week's industrially themed Sepia Saturday, I present the next page of my architectural family album. (The first one was back in March.)
You're so funny to give them names, Sean. They do have a commanding presence, though, don't they, especially the Admiral, the Lopezes, and the Westport brothers.
A terrific spin on this weekend's theme. I like the patina on the first which creates as much effect in sepia tone as in color. My guess is that the tanks all contained different kinds of material, both granular and liquid?
There is a kind of majesty about these structures : a marriage of sculpture and industry. Fabulous photographs.
ReplyDeleteThat is a clever way of looking at and describing these structures.
ReplyDeleteThat first tank, while quite a lot higher, reminds me of our old concrete water tank, leaks and all.
ReplyDeleteI walked round a few tank farms in my time during environmental audits. These are classics.
ReplyDeleteWonderful pictures and fun commentary. Great post. Thanks!

ReplyDeleteElegance in word and sight.
