Rose garden

Some experiments with a shot of roses in Eugene's rose garden.

Seattle Bon Odori

Last weekend I spent some time flaneuring at this annual Japanese street dance, "in which we honor our ancestors who have passed on, remember and appreciate all they have done for us, and celebrate their ongoing presence in the lives we enjoy today." Quite a spectacle of kimono patterns and more contemporary Asian fashion, with models of all ages. Plus Taiko drumming!

There was also a hall of various arts and crafts, Go players, and ikebana. And I couldn't resist the alley.

Pale

This is the same rhododendron bush I last featured, but in its middle age the blooms have turned white! Thus I am reminded of glistening snowbanks, spread swan wings, diaphanous gowns billowing in a breeze...

Bokeh / Bouquet

Apologies for the dearth of posts recently. Procured a job, therefore less time to mooch about taking photographs. Unaccustomed as I am to taking purty pictchas, Spring hath sprung around the garden and thus today's bokeh examination of a springing rhododendron inescapably placed beside my blog-table window.

Stay tuned, the next post will document the mysterious maturation from pink to white!

Anthem for the Sunflower

Our went local community garden is rife, rife I tell you, with sunflowers of all varieties. I looked rather closely at a bunch of them and got all zen for a few minutes.

Mandala for abundance of commiseration with those more fluky than you

Mandala for tranquility of perception in odious context

Mandala for the custody of innocence

Mandala for the robustness of essence while all about you are losing their buoyancy

Mandala for the equilibrium of carriage despite swelling and tenderness

Mandala for the tidiness of array

Mandala for the proper cooking of noodles

Mandala for the paying of full attention to one's manager

Mandala for the elimination of unsightly blots upon one's duvet

Kitchen Assemblage

My nearly-thirteen daughter caught me photographing our bulletin board, which runneth over.

"Dad, why are you taking a picture of THAT!?" she said. She grabbed the camera. "Here's what NORMAL people take picures of!"
